April 12-20

April 12, Saturday
Arrival in Palermo
We ask that you arrive at least one day prior to the start of the tour. You can use this time to check into your rooms, get settled in, and rest. If you are up for it, we can meet up for a casual dinner that evening.
April 13, Sunday
After breakfast and a leisurely start to the morning, learn about historic Palermo with a two hour walking tour from11:00am to 1:00pm. Afterwards, we’ll eat a traditional Sicilian lunch then you feel free to wander around the city. If you are interested, we can get tickets for an opera performance for this evening at the famous Teatro Massimo. Palm Sunday in Palermo involves a procession through the streets and many palm fronds. We’ll take part in as many celebrations as we can!
April 14, Monday
Today we taste the best of Palermo with a street food and market tour with one of our favorite guides, Angelo. Angelo will show us the beating heart of Sicily’s market scene and we’ll eat treats the entire way while learning about Palermos’s culture and history.
April 15, Tuesday
We drive south to Ragusa, a beautiful and charming Baroque town filled with charming narrow streets, incredible churches and stunning palaces. We’ll check into our rooms and get settled before joining a walking tour to learn more about this magical place. After, enjoy free time to explore before meeting up for dinner. April 16, Wednesday This will be the bestest day ever because it involves a visit to a cheese factory followed by a very generous cheese tasting! After, full with cheese, we can visit one of the nearby towns such as Modica or Noto, playing it by ear to do as we please.

April 17, Thursday
We will visit a historic olive mill to learn about Sicilian olive oil production followed by multiple tastings accompanied by traditional Sicilian snacks. We can enjoy free time the rest of the day exploring another town or shopping in Ragusa. This is Maundy Thursday and we will try to catch one of the processions around the area.
April 18, Friday
We depart Ragusa and head to Catania! Along the way we’ll stop for a lunch and wine tasting at a local winery. Upon arriving in Catania, we’ll check into our rooms and you’ll have free time to explore this vibrant city. This is Good Friday and there will be a lot of activities and processions around the area. Observe or take part in the Easter traditions like a local! Meet up for dinner after.
April 19, Saturday
We begin with a market and street food tour. Catania’s fish market is world famous and we’ll get an insider’s view on the good eats while enjoying snacks and drinks the whole time. We’ll be focusing on traditional Easter sweets and goodies special to the area.

April 20, Sunday
For Easter we’ll be taking part in one of the holiest of Italian traditions: Easter Lunch. Prepare for hours of multiple courses and a great time! Enjoy the rest of the day strolling the city. It’s the last day of our tour so we can do whatever we like!
April 21
Departure.

All meals and ground transport on the tour are included. Not included is airfare, airport transfers, and mini bar expenses. We only cover excellent house wines during meals, any additional cocktails or premium wines is on you. If you arrive prior to Saturday, that’s great! We won’t cover the hotel for those nights but can help find something suitable. Fly into Palermo and depart from Catania.
